Rising Sun Memorial Box - Information board

£1800.00

Project Description:
The Rising Sun Memorial Project is focussed on retaining the existing Wiltshire Council owned site adjacent to the A4 on the outskirts of Box village at Grid Reference ST834696. The site will be managed by a Community Interest Company with the primary purpose of providing the community with a convenient picnic area with outstanding views over the Bybrook valley and a lasting memorial to the Griffin family who were killed in the tragic explosion on the site. The area has been neglected over the past decade and is in need of urgent conservation in order to address the considerable health and safety issues. The purpose of the grant is to address these urgent maintenance issues in order that the community can benefit from this outstanding site. The grant will be used to establish an appropriate information board on the site explaining the local history and nature highlights that can be viewed from the RSM location
